Nick Gibbs

Nick Gibbs is editor and publisher of British Woodworking, Living Woods and Smallwoods magazines. He has previously edited Woodworker magazine and launched Good Woodworking magazine, as well as many other magazines in other sectors. His publishing company, Freshwood Publishing, aims to produce top quality, specialist magazines covering every stage in the wood chain of supply, from the forest to the workshop.

Nick was brought up in the chairmaking town of High Wycombe, where his father ran a small furniture business, repairing chair seating and making classic beds, headboards, chests and tables. He became a turner in his teens, working for antique restorers, and then, after university, paid his way through journalism college as a carpenter. For the last 20 or so years he’s spent his career editing or managing magazines, and in 2007 set up Freshwood Publishing to launch British Woodworking.
