Searching for a new means of communication, having given up magazine editing, Nick has found public speaking to be an interesting alternative. He speaks on subjects as diverse as mental health, dishwashing and great hospital escapes. It feels a bit like radio, which was his first experience of journalism back at university.

Nick speaks largely on brain injury, distinguishing a traumatic injury, as happened to him, and acquired injuries, like strokes or Parkinson’s. He offers an entertaining back story, including his attempts to escape Intensive Care, and the experience of being put on a Depravation of Livery Order.
